Functional GI Disorders

Functional gastrointestinal diseases (FGID) are a group of diseases characterized by habitual gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms (e.g. abdominal pain, dysphagia, dyspepsia, diarrhea, constipation and bloating) in the absence of provable pathology on conventional testing. Some causes of FGIDs are environmental, like stress and smoking, and can be greatly affected by life changes. There are also numerous causes that you have no control over, similar as family history. gut perceptivity.
